    • Francis left a Will in which he mentions his 'lands in Matlock and Ashover' and at the foot of this Will a Latin paragraph describes Francis' widow as 'Agnes Binting de Buntingfield.'

      The Will names sons Henry and John; daughters Deborah and Marie (both unmarried) and mother in law Ellen Wragg. Other surnames are mentioned which occur in other Wills including; Barker (Wills of William of Ashover 1613 and John of Ashover 1667); Bower (Godfrey 1608, William of Ashover 1613, John of Ashover 1667, and Elizabeth 1696); and Haslam (William 1613)

      The names Stubbing and Wainwright are also mentioned.

      In the Will is a bequest to Jemimah Bourne, daughter of Immanuel Bourne. Immanuel was the first of the Bourne family who were Rectors of Ashover from 1621 to 1797. (Obadiah Bourne, also Rector, was a witness to the 1696 Will of Elizabeth, widow of Francis' son John)
