  • Notes
    • Nicholas was one of Ilkeston's prominent citizens, property owner and land-owner in the town. A 1598 map of the Copyholders in the Lordship of the Manor of Ilkeston identifies several holdings of Nicholas. The Ilkeston Manor Court Rolls for 1600 say he was a brewer and baker, for which he had to apply for an annual licence from the lord. The rolls also list Nicholas as a juror at various manorial court leets and inquisitions.
